Sketching

I’ve decided to renew my efforts to become an “adequate draftsman.” I have been doing a bunch of 5 minute sketches of whatever is around me, some longer drawings. I find that limiting the time encourages me to just go for it and not over think anything. Plus, it keeps me from spending too much time on any one thing.

Aim higher. You could be a competent draftsman if your really tried.
I dig these and the boxing drawings. There’s a real depth to a quality sketchy drawing- I dig sketches by the old masters more than their paintings. Seems like the immediacy and remnants of “mistakes” gives them more soul.
